Hedgehugs shortlisted for ANOTHER book award!

The Hedgehugs first book (there are more on the way!) has been shortlisted in the picture book category for the Heart of Hawick Children's Book Awards. The awards are a voluntary project set up to encourage reading for pleasure among children.

The Heart of Hawick Children’s Book Award rewards first time authors of children’s books, and rewards the children who take part in the reading and reviewing of the books through the Book Review Awards. The Story Book Award is now in its seventh year and the Picture Book Award for the younger children is now its fifth year.

A series of author events and story telling sessions take place at the participating schools to encourage children to maintain their interest in reading and continue to develop their literacy skills.

In a true 'David & Goliath' contest, Horace & Hattie will be battling it out with 'The Slightly Annoying Elephant', David Walliams' first picture book. Good luck little Hedgehugs!

Lucy Tapper and Steve Wilson, the illustrator and author of Hedgehugs, are also over the moon. "We always knew that Horace and Hattie would be popular, but we never imagined that they could possibly be award-winners. We are genuinely surprised and delighted!"
